Environment, Infrastructure and Human Settlements refers to both the Built and Natural Environments. Built environment reflects Spatial Planning and the various infrastructure that defines it while Natural Environment is made up principally of land and forest, water bodies, mineral resources, the atmosphere and their preservation to influence the process of social and economic development.
Environmental dimension in Ghana focuses on these broad range of issues:
1. Climate and Development Change [including “Protected Areas”]
2. Mineral Extraction and the Environment
3. Water Resources Management
4. Coastal and Marine Management
5. Environmental Pollution (including environmental hazards)
6. Deforestation, Desertification and Soil Erosion
7. Drainage, Floods and Disaster Management
8. Seismic Hazards (Earthquakes)
9. Land Administration [Emphasize relevance to infrastructure provision]
10. Transport: Road, Rail, Air and Water
11. Energy and Petroleum
12. Infrastructure Provision and Maintenance
13. Information and Communications Technology Infrastructure
14. Human Settlements Development
