Dr. Thomas Agyei, representing the Bono Region is a seasoned academic with over 10 years of experience in higher education. He specializes in Environmental Ecology, Climate Change, Natural Resources Management, Plant Science, Ecology, and Curriculum Development.
He is a senior lecturer and the current Head of Department of Biological Sciences in the School of Sciences at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani – Bono Region. Additionally, he frequently collaborates with international organizations to address global environmental challenges and promote sustainable practices. He is currently a research fellow at CzechGlobe —The Czech Academy of Sciences’ Global Change Research Institute in Brno, Czech Republic.

Dr, Agyei is an experienced researcher who has published extensively in reputable journals in the field of climate change - fluxes/emissions of greenhouse gases (ozone, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide, methane) and their impact on terrestrial ecosystems. He holds a Ph.D. in Botany (Plant Anatomy and Physiology) from Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic, an MSc in Environmental Biology, and a B.Ed. in Science Education from the University of Eastern Finland in Kuopio, Finland, and the University of Education in Winneba, Ghana, respectively.
He also earned a three-year Postsecondary Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ from St. Joseph’s College of Education in Bechem, Ghana. As a passionate advocate for Global Climate Change – including environmental pollution, deforestation, water resources, carbon storage, desertification, and soil erosion., Dr. Agyei brings valuable contribution to NDPC and the greater socio-economic development of Ghana.
