Dr. Sandra Kesse-Amankwa is a distinguished Environment and Gender Expert with over 17 years of dedicated service at the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC). Currently serving as the Acting Head of the Development Plan Coordination Division, Dr. Kesse-Amankwa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in policy formulation, development planning, project management, and strategic environmental assessment.
Dr. Kesse-Amankwa holds a PhD in Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana. She also earned a Master's degree in Environmental Management from the University of Northampton in the UK, along with a First Degree in Development Planning from KNUST.
Throughout her career, Dr. Kesse-Amankwa has been instrumental in advancing various programs and projects focusing on critical areas such as biodiversity, natural capital accounting, desertification, climate change, blue economy, and gender issues. Her expertise and commitment to sustainable development make her a pivotal figure in shaping policies that address environmental challenges while promoting gender equity.
