Mr. Samson M. Jakpa was born on November 4^th, 1955 in Bunkpurugu, North East Region.  He has an M. ED (Administration) degree from the University of Cape Coast and a Diploma in Journalism from the Corresponding School of Journalism, KNUST, a BA. (Combined) English/French, Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast.

From 2003 until 2008, he served as the Headmaster of Gushegu Senior High School, Kpandai Senior High School, Walewale Senior High Technical School, and Pong Tamale Senior High School.
