Prof. Samuel Kwabena Annim is a professor at the Department of Applied Economics, University of Cape Coast, and the Government Statistician (Ghana Statistical Service, Accra). He obtained a PhD in Economics from the University of Manchester, School of Social Sciences, United Kingdom, and Master of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon. He has a B. A. (Hons) in Economics from the University of Cape Coast. He was born on the 9^th of December 1975.

Prof. Annim has held several positions including Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance, University of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa; Director at the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy, University of Cape Coast (2016-2019); and Head, Department of Economics, University of Cape Coast (2015-2016). He was the lead person in the development of the Postdoctoral policy for the university of Cape Coast.
