National Development Planning Commission
Ms. Lucy Owusu-Ansah is a Development Planner by profession. Prior to her appointment as a member of the National Development Planning Commission, she was on retirement having served as the Regional Economic Planning Officer for the Central Region. Ms. Owusu-Ansah joined the Civil Service in 1981 as an Assistant Economic Planning Officer at the Regional Coordinating Council, Kumasi. She rose through the ranks and served as the Regional Economic Planning Officer for the Ashanti Region, the Chief Economic Planning Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, and as Director of Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PPME) of the Ministry of Defence.
Ms. Owusu-Ansah received a Commonwealth Executive Master’s in Public Administration at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, a Bachelor of Science degree in Planning from the University of Science and Technology, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Economics, Napoli, Italy.
She participated in several workshops including workshops on monitoring and evaluation (Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development), International Local Visitors Leadership Programme on Local Government Administration and Public Private Partnership (USA) Training of Local and Regional Economic Development Facilitators (Kumasi, Ghana) and a World Bank/GIMPA workshop on Consulting Services (Accra, Ghana).
